Principle Investigator
Meng Zhou
Dr. Meng Zhou received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Jilin University, China. He has been dedicated to the field of bioinformatics and medical big data since 2004. Currently, he is a full professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Diseases, State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Optometry and Visual Science, Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, China. His research primarily focuses on utilizing machine learning, statistical and other computational methods on multimodal data to address challenges in precision medicine for better disease detection, better treatment selection and monitoring, and better decision support for medicine practice and public health. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers which have been cited over 4300 times with an H-index of 34 as indicated in Google Scholar (update in 2023/08).
Co-Principal Investigator
Jie Sun
Prof. Sun received her Ph.D. in biophysics from Harbin Medical University, China. She has been engaged in the study of bioinformatics since 2004. Currently, she is a full professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Wenzhou Medical University, China. Her research interests include bioinformatics, computational biology and computational immuno-oncology. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers which have been cited over 3800 times with an H-index of 21 and i10-index of 45 as indicated in Google Scholar (update in 2020.03). Dr. Sun contributed significantly to the computational identification of novel biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment response based on multi-omics data. She also conceptualized, designed developed, and co-developed computational methods/tools to analyze and interpret human genes, diseases and gene-disease association from a system biology perspective.
